Otro:You'll gain the tools and insights to elevate your leadership impact no matter where you are on your journey. Whether you're a seasoned executive or stepping into your first leadership role, each conversation will inspire and equip you to become the leader you were always meant to be. Let's dive in.
Rob Adams:Welcome to A Student of Leadership where great leaders are made one habit at a time. I'm Rob Adams, your host and guide on this journey into the habits, routines, and behaviors that define exceptional leadership. Whether you're stepping into your 1st leadership role or finding your craft as a seasoned senior leader, this podcast is designed for you. Leadership is not a destination, it's a practice. In fact, over my 25 plus years of leadership experience, I've learned that being a leader is about continually evolving, challenging yourself, and adopting small deliberate actions that inspire trust, loyalty, and extraordinary results.
Rob Adams:My passion for leadership development has led me to the groundbreaking work of admired leadership, a philosophy that I believe represents the gold standard in leadership. Through this approach, I've come to understand that exceptional leaders aren't born, they're built one habit at a time. This podcast will guide you through that process. This series is about actionable insights. Each episode will focus on one word or phrase that captures a critical leadership behavior.
Rob Adams:We'll dive deep into real world stories, memorable quotes, reflection questions, and research backed insights to explore what that behavior looks like in practice. But we won't stop there. You'll also get practical tips and an actionable challenge to help you embed these habits into your daily leadership. This podcast is unapologetically practical. It's not about leadership theory.
Rob Adams:It's about leadership practice. Every episode will give you something concrete you can try, refine, and make your own. While context and situations matter in leadership, the most impactful leadership behaviors are universal in their application. They transcend industries, roles, and even cultures. What makes a student of leadership different is its focus on behavioral skill development.
Rob Adams:The best leaders make these behaviors, routines, and actions a consistent part of how they lead, which makes their leadership more genuine and impactful. Because of this, the language we use to describe these things matters a great deal. We will always call them behaviors, routines, or actions and never techniques or tactics. In every episode, you can expect the following segments, An engaging story of a leader who exemplifies the behavior we're exploring, a famous quote or 2 from admired leaders to ground the theme, reflection questions to challenge your thinking and expand your perspective, insights from research or practice that highlight why this behavior matters, practical tips to help you develop the habit and make your own, and a weekly challenge, something you can apply immediately to strengthen your leadership. Each episode is short and focused, designed to fit into your busy schedule while delivering high impact value.
Rob Adams:By the end of every episode, you will have the tools to practice and improve one habit at a time. And as your host, I bring not only my own experience, but also a deep passion for continuous growth and learning. I'm a committed student and practitioner of leadership. I'm not here as an expert dispensing wisdom. I'm here as a fellow student sharing my own journey and inviting you to reflect on yours.
Rob Adams:We are in this together and will grow together. Throughout this series, I'll also share stories from my own leadership journey, the successes, the challenges, and the lessons that have shaped me. My role here is not just to teach, but to partner with you on your journey. Together, we'll uncover the distinctive behaviors that define exceptional leaders. I'm so excited to get started.
